Sharp Dressed by Little Red Scraps and a freebie desktop

Little Red Scraps has a fabulous new kit out this week called Sharp Dressed and it is 25% this week. It is perfect for all the proms and other formals that are going on right now but also good for other stuff because the colors are great. I think that every prom dress my sister wore is covered by this kit though! And for a limited time you get Prom Word Art for free. I used one on my prom layout below.

My first layout was me from my senior prom – wearing pink!!

And here is another page for J1’s album – see, not a prom dress in sight!

I also made a desktop that is posted over on A+ Design’s blog – go pick it up.

Digi Scraps Drive-In happenings

For iNSD we had a scrap-a-thon over at DSDI and I got 10 layouts done. Many of them were for J1’s album – I should be done with his first year soon. I even printed everything I had done last Tuesday – Persnickety Prints had a 25% off sale so I jumped on that.

Also, in the midst of all the sites being down, DSDI is still up so come check us out while waiting for the other sites to come back up. Hopefully that will be soon because it is hard for everyone when sites are down. If you were wondering what is going on check out this thread at Digi Shop Talk. Sounds like a nightmare.

Check out what I got done:

John's scrapbook - year 1 - Page 028

This was a recipe challenge and I used Strawberry Fields by Little Red Scraps and I also made this layout for the iNSD speed scrap using the same kit.

Here is a preview of this lovely kit:

This was a scraplift challenge and I used Boy’s Club by Mad Genius Enterprises. Poor J1 and his allergy problems.

Here is the kit – isn’t it fun?

MGD_BoysClub_Prev

This was a selective coloring challenge.

I used the DSDI collab called Outback – perfect for all your boy layouts.

OutbackDSDICollab_FullPrev

We had to do a challenge inspired by the word twist. Well, the main thing that comes to mind when I think that word is this awesome store in Portland so here it is

SAT_kerryt_4

I used this lovely kit Fall Into Fall by Red Genius Enterprises. I love the colors in this kit and all the leaves!

RGE FallIntoFall Preview

I did this layout for the regular recipe challenge for April using the same kit. That mat is actually a journaling strip but I was supposed to mat my photo with something not generally used for a mat.

Okay, I just realized that I post all my layout and kits this will be really long so I’ll split it into a few days. Thanks for stopping by. Tomorrow I should have some fun tractor layouts to show you.

Fruit of the Spirit and QP Freebie!

Jane from Little Red Scraps has a new kit out called Fruit of the Spirit and it is great fun! The colors are wonderful and there are lovely religious and non-religious elements. I really love the tree and that cute bird! And the best part is it is on sale for 25% off and you get the cardstocks for free – just for the first week though so hurry up!

LRS_FOTS_Preview

I did two layouts with this in addition to the quick page I made. This first one is J1 at the park in Wrangell when we were there for the Fourth of July a few years ago. I got a lot of great shots that day! This was also a layout for the Cover Tunes challenge at DSDI – that is a scraplift challenge.

LRS - Fruit of the Spirit 300 - Page 002

This one is also for a challenge at DSDI – the Made in the Shade challenge which is a template challenge. This is J1 down at the park by our house. He was famous for this kind of sliding and had no fear! There is that tree and the bird. I recolored those hearts so they are not blue in the kit (they are red) but blue just worked better in my layout!

Here is my quick page and if you head to Jane’s blog you can get some add-on papers.

Apple Blossom Time & QP Freebie

Apple Blossom Time is a lovely new kit by Little Red Scraps. I used this kit the other night to do a speed scrap over at Digi Scraps Drive-In, one of my favorite sites! Check out the kit – I love the colors and, as usual, Jane's elements are wonderful!

LRS_ABT_LRS_AppleBlossomTimePrev

Jewel of Mad Genius Designs was running the speed scrap and was torturing me with seven, yes seven, pictures required! It was tough but I like what I came up with. This is J1 and I am thinking of doing another with J2!

The kit is 25% off until April 2nd and you get this cardstock for free until then.

Make sure to head to Jane’s blog too – there is a free add on and links to CT members' blogs who have free quick pages! I also made this quick page for your scrapping enjoyment.

Grand Opening Extravaganzas

Well, there are two great grand openings I think you should know about. The first is for A+ Designs who just opened up over at Gotta Pixel – a great site. All of Mel’s kits are on sale now through February 7th – you have to get over there and pick some up! (flyer is linked) Also, if you make it over there today (Tuesday) it is $1.00 Pixel day and 4 of Mel's kits are only $1.00!!

The second one is for Mad Genius Designs, Little Red Scraps, Red Genius Enterprises and Altered Sea – they are all having a Grand Opening Sale over at Digi Scraps Drive-In.

And what’s great is that you can buy a bit from each of them and get a free grab bag to boot! Here are details of the sale and the links to their stores:

You get 25% off a minimum 2.99 purchase – the discount will show at checkout.
AND
With a 1.99 minimum spend across the stores, you will get a free grab bag with 8 previously unreleased products (including some CU!).

Altered Sea

While you are there, check out the new collab from Little Red Scraps and Altered Sea – it is called Mommyhood and it is just lovely.

In my quest to get J1’s first year album done, here are two more layouts for that book using this kit. And yes, I randomly took pictures of him at any moment and sometimes put him in different outfits and snapped more pictures. Poor J2 – I have never done such things with him. Good thing I have started his therapy fund already! LOL – sucks to be the second child – I should know since I am one!

LRS - Mommyhood #1 - Page 015

Now I have made a layout with these pictures before but they were 12 x 12 and not for J1’s book so deal with it! :)

Winter Berries - a fabulous new kit by Little Red Scraps

My “assignment” this week was to make some pages with Winter Berries by Little Red Scraps – don’t you just love that kind of job??  This kit rocks! The colors are so great (red has been my favorite color for as long as I can remember) and there are tons of sparkly elements - a favorite of mine lately.  Look at how fabulous it is:

LRS%20WinterBerries%20Preview

Right now Jane, the illustrious designer behind Little Red Scraps, has a freebie add-on for this kit on her blog - head there and pick it up after you buy the kit! She promises another add-on in the Stuff to Scrap newsletter so if you aren't already signed up, get on it - all you have to do is enter your email in the box on the upper right side of the Stuff to Scrap blog.

Here are my layouts. The first one is my boys with the amazing Macy's Santa last Christmas.  Neither of my boys are afraid of Santa which is the best.  I first went to Macy’s with my paper scrapping friends Laura and Paula.  They have this scheme where they hit the store around 4 or 4:30 on a week night and there is literally no wait time!  I don’t know how they discovered this but I am grateful they let me in on the secret.  The photographer always end up taking many, many pictures of my boys because they are so calm and enthralled with Santa and you can buy the whole disk for around $40 which isn’t bad to have all the shots and have the right to print them yourself.

Winter Berries #1

I did the Santa layout for one of the daily challenges we had in the forum this month to celebrate {Inter}National Scrapbook Day - there's only two left so make sure to check them out. All the normal monthly challenges are still there too so go get in on the fun!

Here is my other one – it  is just some silly pictures I took before Christmas last year - mostly because I thought the socks were so cute. I just love the elements and the alpha and check out that snowflake border – it is lovely!

STS Template Challenge Nov

I am going to attempt to post a bunch of layouts again this week.  I need to clear some space on my hard drive.  The darn thing is 150 gig and there is only 13 gig left!  I regularly take off my zipped kits after installing them and backing them up to disk but I guess I need to do the same with my layouts to make room for buying more kits.  :)
