Walking in a Wonder Winterland

Isn’t that how the song goes? Well, maybe not quite but the spirit is there nonetheless! Wonder Winterland is the new kit by Red Genius Enterprises that I got to play with this week. Red Genius Enterprises teams up the fabulous Mad Genius Designs with the equally fabulous Little Red Scraps (and I'll have a kit from her in a few days!) – how can you go wrong?? Here is the preview – isn’t it beautiful?? I love all the papers – they are so unique – and the all the sparkles! This kit is perfect for all your snowy layouts and comes with two awesome alphas.

Here is my “snowy” layout. I took this during one of our fairly rare snow falls here in the great Pacific Northwest. J1 was so excited to be out there – for about five minutes anyway! And anyone who knows me knows I wasn’t willing to hang out in the snow! I made this layout for the scraplift challenge over in the Stuff to Scrap forums – scraplifts are hard for me but it helps me stretch!

Just so you don’t limit yourself, this kit works for other layouts as well. Check out the fabulous Christmas cookies (well, there were some Christmas-y cookies in there somewhere) he made. He really had a blast making these cookies and I was only a bit horrified by the huge mess! And of course I really wanted him to make all Christmas cookies but my sister gave me a huge bag of cookie cutters and he saw them so… what are you going to do? This layout was also done for a challenge – the November font challenge. I love the font challenges because they introduce me to new fonts and I just can’t get enough fonts!

Make sure to pick this kit up fast. It is on sale right now 25% off as part of the Holiday/Seasonal Products sale through November 26th!

I really should be in bed – the mister and I are going to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert tomorrow afternoon. My MIL is coming to watch the boys so we can go! This is at least the 3rd time, if not the 4th, that we have gone. I generally don’t enjoy going to concerts but they put on such a unique show that it really is great. We have great seats too – row 10 on the floor. That is practically on top of the stage! Even if you don't think you have heard them, you probably have. Check this out and see:

So on that note, off to bed I go!

Strawberry Fields - a very yummy kit!

I got to play with Strawberry Fields by Nibbles Skribbles this week. I was drawn to this kit right away because of the great colors. Finding pictures to use was harder because most of my digital pictures feature the boys and their oranges, blues and greens! Don't forget to check out her entire store while you are there - all her kits are great! I already own a bunch - Kites & Bikes, Tutti Frutti, Rainy Days and Take a Dip. I have my eye on a bunch more - Date It, Flutterby, Summer Sparkle and a bunch of her templates. I love templates - they are my latest obsession!

The first layout I made is me and my sister back in the salad days. She is blonde but we are not sure why. Can't blame it on the mailman because they only have post office boxes where we grew up. No milk delivery either. I guess now that my youngest son is pretty blonde, we have to admit that it runs in the family somewhere!

The second is my boys eating strawberries in our backyard. J2 loves to eat spoils from our garden. He is good about only picking and eating the red ones. When J1 was younger he would pick all of them, green included. Made the mister so angry!

Growing Pains Scrapped New Freebie Kit Beach Bums

Tracy at Growing Pains Scrapped is releasing her latest kit as a freebie this week. Head over to her blog to pick it up. Tomorrow you can get the papers followed by the elements on Wednesday, the alpha on Thursday and then quick pages from her and her CT on Friday. Here is what the full kit looks like. Keep scrolling down to see my layouts.

This first layout shows J1 each year when we go to the beach. This was a really fun layout to do and was done for a speed scrap over at Stuff to Scrap.

This one is me and the mister after climbing up to a fire lookout up at Anthony Lakes - it was quite a view! Too bad we got eaten alive by mosquitos on the way up. This will be your quick page freebie right here on Friday.

It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere...

I got to play with this great, colorful kit from Misty O'Brien Designs this week - check it out in her store here. I love the bright, cheerful colors which are a bit outside my comfort zone! I am usually wearing darker colors and my boys are in, well, boy colors so I liked stretching my creativity with this. I have a few pictures from my bachelorette party that would have been perfect but I decided I didn't want those out for general viewing! I think my favorite part of this kit is the patterned papers - very unique and elegant swirly papers and fun dotted papers.

This is the first layout I made with it. I love tulips and have gone to the Tulip Festival in Woodburn, Oregon many times!

This is the second layout I did - the mister and I took his mom to a Mother's Day Tea at the Lavender Tea House in Sherwood, Oregon back when a friend owned it. The scones are to die for!

Dogs and Frogs - a new kit from Growing Pains Scrapped

Tracy at Growing Pains Scrapped has a new kit called Dogs and Frogs on her blog. It will be free this week and then you can get it in her stores at Stuff to Scrap and Scrap Mall. I love this kit! It is great for my boys but also works for any dog pictures you have. And don't forget about frog pictures - I know my sister has pictures from when we visited "Frog Lake" a few years ago and she can't be the only one with cute pictures of frogs!

Make sure to head over to her blog starting tomorrow. The release schedule is:

Monday: Papers
Tuesday: Elements
Wednesday: Alpha #1
Thursday: Alpha #2
Friday: Quick Pages

On Friday I will have a quick page made with this layout (I'll have the wordart available too):

I made this layout for the Stuff to Scrap template challenge for this month. It is a great template - if you haven't checked out the challenge and all the great layouts being made with it, click here to join the fun!
