iNSD Celebration at Digi Scrap Drive In

It is going to be a fabulous weekend over at DSDI! I can’t wait and the mister will be gone for most of Sunday riding his motorcycle so I can be a bad mommy and plop the boys down in front of the TV and scrap! :) Check it out!

Mad Genius Designs is hosting a scrap-a-thon this weekend at Digi Scraps Drive-In. There will be 10 challenges over the weekend, with three different participation levels - and if you complete them all you get a chance to win her whole store – wouldn’t that be awesome? She has great kits plus a bunch of CU items! You can also win MandyMade's store, more great kits and a ton of CU as well. I know there is lots going on but make sure to head over and scrap with us.

For sales there is 40% off everything – I can’t wait to shop. We were talking about budgets over in the forums the other day – I think I need to figure one out and transfer it to Pay Pal so I can stick to it.

There is also going to be a blog train featuring the DSDI Designers – The Pink Ladies. They will each have a brag book using the fabulous new Flavor of the Month called Greatest Expectations which is for pregnancy and motherhood. It is a huge kit – 59 papers and 129 elements – and it will also be 40% off.

If you visit all the designers you can get parts of a coupon for additional savings on the collab. The train starts at Melly Scraps so head there and jump onboard.

Halcyon Days – a new kit from Growing Pains Scrapped

Growing Pains Scrapped has a new kit called Halcyon Days and each piece will be free on her blog for 24 hours so hurry over and pick it up! For those not in the know, halcyon means calm; peaceful; tranquil – what a great name for this kit since the colors are very spa-like.

PicturesGPS_Halcyon Days_full preview

I made two layouts – this one for a speed scrap over at Stuff to Scrap last week. This is J1 enjoying making bubbles – he is holding the wand out and spinning. He is bad at actually blowing bubbles because he basically ends up eating the bubble juice. I don’t know why he feels he needs to hold the wand that close to his mouth but he does so spinning works better!

This is my sister. I am pretty sure she was on one of her fabulous vacations in this picture but I don’t know where. And she is a blonde so it does run in our family somewhere.

Check back Thursday for this layout as a freebie quick page and thanks for stopping by.

Fruit of the Spirit and QP Freebie!

Jane from Little Red Scraps has a new kit out called Fruit of the Spirit and it is great fun! The colors are wonderful and there are lovely religious and non-religious elements. I really love the tree and that cute bird! And the best part is it is on sale for 25% off and you get the cardstocks for free – just for the first week though so hurry up!

I did two layouts with this in addition to the quick page I made. This first one is J1 at the park in Wrangell when we were there for the Fourth of July a few years ago. I got a lot of great shots that day! This was also a layout for the Cover Tunes challenge at DSDI – that is a scraplift challenge.

LRS - Fruit of the Spirit 300 - Page 002

This one is also for a challenge at DSDI – the Made in the Shade challenge which is a template challenge. This is J1 down at the park by our house. He was famous for this kind of sliding and had no fear! There is that tree and the bird. I recolored those hearts so they are not blue in the kit (they are red) but blue just worked better in my layout!

LRS - Fruit of the Spirit 300 - Page 001

Here is my quick page and if you head to Jane’s blog you can get some add-on papers.

Renew by Mad Genius Designs and Daybreak Scraps

I finally got my hands on the fabulous kit Renew by Mad Genius Designs and Daybreak Scraps. I have been eyeing this one for awhile now so I am pleased to have it. Don’t you love it? I love these girly kits but have to struggle coming up with layouts since I have two boys. At least it gave me something to do one of my P52 projects with.

Renew Preview

This was week 9 of my P52 – My Life in Scrap. I am behind and actually skipped week 8 so I could use this kit. But I’ll get caught up eventually! The pictures in this layout were altered using Jane's Lomo technique - from the Killer Threads Challenge over at Digi Scraps Drive In. If you don't know what Lomo is, and honestly I'd be pretty impressed if you did, go check it out because it is really cool. You can see a close up of the before and after on my photos too.

My Life in Scrap P52 Week 9 - Page 010

I did this for a speed scrap over at DSDI. Another page for J1’s book. Can’t wait to finish year one and either start year 2 or do J2’s year one. Just haven’t decided. Do I do both their first years so J2 doesn’t need therapy someday or get J1’s year 2 done and then I will be equally behind on both of them. And honestly, does it matter enough for me to have written an entire paragraph about it? lol Anyway… speed scrap. The next one at DSDI is tonight at 6pm PST. I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it to that one since my bff and her mom are coming over for dinner. Taco night! Oh, must pick up some more fat free half and half for cocktails – yummy.

Renew #2 - Page 029

And don’t forget, it is the last week of Mad Genius Designs’ birthday sale and it is another great one. Check it out, a build-your-own grab bag of personal use stuff. I love those kind of sales! And only $4 – that is an can’t-be-missed price. The last one of these I did I got over $27 worth of Chrissy W. templates for $6 – gotta love that!

Make sure to check out Pretty Cozy – I love that kit! You can see my layouts with that kit here. Tomorrow a new kit from Little Red Scraps with a freebie so make sure to come back!

DSDI April Daily Download is Here!!

There is a new daily download kit starting today at Digi Scraps Drive In. The kit is called In Your Eyes – Love and it is by Mad Genius Designs. You only get to see a sneak peek and here it is:

If you are impatient, you can buy the kit right now - it is 40% off! If you are patient you can go to the Drive-By Freebie Forum and pick up day one and then visit daily for the rest.

Also, I did make a layout so that is a bit more of a peek. Another page for J1’s album – I’m getting there!

In Your Eyes - Love

So how it works is you get a little bit of the kit everyday for 10 days – make sure you stop by the forums each day and why don’t you stick around and do some challenges while you are there! I am loving the challenges at DSDI. There is a really fun one called Order Up where you chose menu items – actual food menu items – which translate into secret items that you have to use in your layout. My list is pretty big so I need to start on that one soon. There is also one called Killer Threads where you get a tutorial for a new technique and then make a layout with it. This month was photo manipulation and I’ll post my layout of that tomorrow.

A Mother’s Love - a beautiful new collab kit

By Gettin’ Scrappy with Britt and SAHM Scrapper. I just love this kit! The purples, browns are green are lovely together and, honestly, the kit is just huge! There are 27 papers, 50 embellishments, and a full tag alpha – wow huh? And it is on sale 25% off for the first week so go grab it now!

In addition, there is a set of 22 brag book pages made with this kit – just perfect for a beautiful and quick Mother’s Day gift. These are also 25% off so don’t delay – Mother’s Day is Sunday May 9th, which will be here before you know it! I think I’m going to do just that – my mom loves books of the boys.

Also, the designers have freebies on their blogs so make sure to go check it out.

Here are my layouts. I did this for the recipe challenge over at Stuff to Scrap. Tammy of Mommy Me Time Scrapper was stretching our skills with 10 papers this month – hard but fun! And, luckily, plenty to chose from in this kit. This is my mom as a tween and maybe mid to late twenties.

I did this for the quote challenge – such a lovely quote and I’m always happy to make a layout with me and my bff. This is a pretty old picture – from the early days of our almost 11 year friendship.

Make sure you pick up this awesome kit right now! I still have a cute kit from Mad Genius Designs to show you and kit from Little Red Scraps later this week – that one will have a freebie! I also posted a freebie quick page on A+ Design’s blog on Friday using her fab new kit Retro Spring – make sure you go pick it up.

Baby of Mine – a new kit and freebie quick page!

Growing Pains Scrapped has a new collab kit with Digi-Designs by Nicole. It is a fabulous baby kit but with slightly different colors, making it work for other layouts as well. It is always great to have a versatile kit! Make sure you hit Tracy’s and Nicole’s blogs because the rest of their CT have freebies too.

Isn’t it super cute? I love all the elements and, of course, the papers, which are always my weak spot! Also available are two sets of quick pages, one boy geared and the other girly. These would be perfect and easy gifts for grandparents or even for moms and dads to carry around and show off their new baby.

You can also get it all in a bundle which will save you $4.50!

DDBN_GPS_MOB_Bundle Preview

Here are my two layouts. Don’t these colors work perfect with this kit? Another page for J1’s album – probably more than half done now – hooray! Radium Hot Springs was closed to the public long before I started going to Haines but the mister's aunt knew the owners and went nearly everyday. We got to go with her when J1 was about 7 1/2 months. It was like swimming in a huge bathtub - heavenly! It is closed to everyone now so J2 will never get to enjoy it. That is a huge shame because he loves the water whereas J1 just tolerates it. He liked the pool pretty well back then though.

Baby of Mine #1 300 - Page 035

I did this for the theme challenge over at Stuff to Scrap. This picture was taken within the first 10 or 15 minutes after he was born. Dig the oxygen mask? Apparently my heart rate dropped or something – it was all a blur to me – I just don’t remember what happened at the end there. Nothing tragic though so that is good!

GPS - Baby of Mine #2 - Page 001

I made my quick page from this layout since the other is 8 1/2 x 11. I am not opposed to making some that size – let me know if there is any desire for that.

Thanks for stopping by and check back tomorrow for a great Mother’s Day kit!

Manda’s Scrappin’ Creations Retirement Sale

That’s right, Manda is retiring from making kits. She is also closing her freebie only blog at the end of April. She will still have freebies on her main blog – mostly templates which is some consolation I guess since I *love* templates – but some freebie collab kits as well.

The only bright spot in all this is her retirement sale where you can pick up her great kits, templates and word art over at ESS for an awesome price – nothing over $2!!!

Make sure to get them all before they are gone forever!

Darling Dots & Damask by Just For You Digi Scraps

I have been eyeing this kit since Michelle released it so I am pleased I got to use it! The kit is called Darling Dots & Damask by Just For You Digi Scraps – check out the preview:

JFYDS_DDD_FullPReview copy

I absolutely love the palette! There are lovely papers and so many great flowers and ribbons, just perfect for all your layouts.

Here is my first layout – done for a speed scrap at Stuff to Scrap last week. This is J1 on our last visit to his Great Granny before she passed away. He is named after her son so she had a special liking for him!

Just For You Digi Scraps - Darling Dots and Damask - Page 001

My second one was for the template challenge. Isn’t it a fun template? You can still get in on the fun – head to the Stuff to Scrap forums right now! This was J1’s first Christmas, taking pictures at Gramma’s house. These are his cousins MW and GG.

Lots of good things coming up so make sure to follow so you don’t miss anything!

New Boys Kit and Word Art Freebie

Tracy from Growing Pains Scrapped has a new kit out called Boys Only! - just perfect for me since I have three of them living in my house. I love this kit -the colors work well together and seem to match so many of the boys' clothes. I also love the cars and airplanes - things that seem to be on my floor constantly! Make sure you head over to the store and pick this up - it is 30% off this week.

Here is my layout - don't you love that string frame? So cool. This is J1 eating rice - one of his staple carbs. Well, it used to be anyway, we have moved on to "noodles, no soup" which means he doesn't want Campbell's chicken noodle anymore, just noodles with butter. Ugh! Well, he never at the chicken or the carrots anyway so I guess this is cheaper, just not as easy.

And my freebie is word art - I love to make word art with kits so I was excited that Tracy let us have free reign this time around. If you didn't start at her blog, head over there because there are many different freebies to be had. There are quick pages, some other word art, a few different invites and a cluster frame.

Thanks for stopping by! Also, one of my designers is retiring - so sad. I'll post the link to her retirement sale this weekend and soon I'll be part of a brag book blog train using a great charity kit so look for that. Happy Friday!
